Role Summary:


We are seeking an experienced business consulting leader to join our consulting team as an HLS Consulting Partner, focused on the Pharma & Life Sciences sector in the UK. This role is centered on driving client success, business growth, and consulting excellence while working closely with senior stakeholders across major life sciences organizations.


You will be responsible for building trusted advisor relationships with C-suite and senior leadership teams, shaping strategic direction, and leading high-value consulting engagements that address key business challenges across manufacturing, supply chain, operations, commercial, and digital transformation. This is a highly visible role with significant influence on both client outcomes and consulting business growth.


Role Purpose:


The HLS Consulting Partner will act as a senior consulting leader responsible for:


  • Developing strong client relationships and establishing trusted advisor status.


  • Driving consulting-led growth across Pharma & Life Sciences accounts in the UK.


  • Creating innovative, outcome-focused proposals aligned to client business priorities.


  • Leading and supporting transformation initiatives that span business process, operating model, digital, technology, and data.


  • Contributing to the growth of the consulting practice through thought leadership, market engagement, and delivery excellence.


  • This role requires someone who can combine strategic thinking, industry credibility, commercial awareness, and hands-on leadership.


Key Responsibilities

Client Success and Growth


  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, including C-level executives.


  • Understand client business priorities and identify opportunities to create measurable value.


  • Develop proactive consulting propositions tailored to client challenges and industry trends.


  • Support account growth through advisory work, workshops, opportunity shaping, and solution design.


  • Collaborate with sales, delivery, and account teams to expand existing relationships and win new business.


  • Consulting Strategy and Practice Development


  • Define and contribute to the consulting strategy for the Pharma & Life Sciences vertical in the UK.


  • Align consulting offerings with market demand, client needs, and TechM’s broader strategic goals.


  • Identify emerging themes, capabilities, and service offerings relevant to the sector.


  • Contribute to thought leadership, industry positioning, and market visibility.


  • Support the development of new consulting products, frameworks, and value propositions.


  • Delivery and Governance


  • Provide governance and oversight across consulting engagements in the sector.


  • Lead or support key engagements where required, ensuring quality, client satisfaction, and business impact.


  • Ensure consulting work is outcome-driven, commercially sound, and aligned to client expectations.


  • Work with delivery teams to maintain strong execution, issue resolution, and stakeholder alignment.


  • Team Leadership


  • Build, motivate, and mentor consulting teams to deliver against business objectives.


  • Foster a high-performance, collaborative culture.


  • Support team development through coaching, guidance, and role modelling.


  • Help create an environment that encourages accountability, curiosity, and customer focus.


  • Market and Business Development


  • Engage in business development activities, including proposals, RFP responses, executive workshops, and industry events.


  • Evaluate market needs and competitive trends to identify new opportunities.


  • Develop relationships that enhance TechM’s reputation in the Pharma & Life Sciences sector.


  • Help shape annual business plans and growth priorities for the consulting practice.


Required Qualifications and Experience

12–15+ years of consulting experience, preferably in Pharma, Life Sciences, Manufacturing, or Supply Chain.


Strong background in business consulting, strategy, transformation, or advisory leadership.


Proven experience working with senior executives and C-suite stakeholders.


Demonstrated ability to drive client growth, consulting revenues, and strategic accounts.


Experience leading cross-functional teams and consulting engagements.


Strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.


Ability to work in fast-paced, complex environments with multiple priorities.


Bachelor’s degree required; MBA from a leading business school preferred.


Preferred Experience

Experience in Pharma / Life Sciences, especially around:


Manufacturing


Supply chain


Commercial operations


Digital transformation


Operating model design


Process improvement


Experience working in Agile environments.


Proficiency with process modelling tools such as ARIS, Visio, or Bizagi.


Lean / Six Sigma certification preferred, but not mandatory.


Experience with enterprise transformation involving technology, data, and business process change.
