Design Manager

Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Design Manager to join a highly respected workplace design and construction business delivering high-end commercial fit-out projects across London.


With a strong pipeline of secured work and a reputation for delivering exceptional workplace environments, this role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of CAT A and CAT B office fit-outs, refurbishment projects, and design-led commercial interiors.


This position would suit an individual with previous experience managing the design process on commercial office fit-out projects who is looking to join a collaborative and growing business with genuine opportunities for progression.


The Role


Reporting into a Project Director, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the design process from concept through to project completion.


Working closely with architects, consultants, subcontractors and project delivery teams, you will ensure all design information is coordinated, compliant and buildable whilst supporting the successful delivery of high-quality workplace projects.


Key Responsibilities


  • Manage the design process throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate architects, consultants, subcontractors and project teams.
  • Review and manage technical design information.
  • Lead design coordination meetings.
  • Identify and resolve design issues before construction.
  • Manage RFIs, design changes and consultant deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with Building Regulations and project requirements.
  • Support project teams throughout construction and project completion.
  • Monitor design programmes and ensure key milestones are achieved.


About You


  • Experience delivering CAT A and CAT B office fit-out projects.
  • Strong understanding of design coordination and technical delivery.
  • Experience working with architects, consultants and specialist subcontractors.
  • Knowledge of current Building Regulations and construction processes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects within a fast-paced environment.
